Requirements for Reopening due to COVID-19

REQUIREMENTS/GUIDELINES FOR REOPENING

  • PARENTS will need to sign a non-liability waiver (this can be handled online when registering for classes) and MUST SIGN UP FOR THE REMIND APP – NO EXCEPTIONS  (we are starting a NEW APP for this year) – the APP makes it easier/faster to keep parents informed more quickly.

  • After having to make many, many changes, the class schedule is finally available and is posted on our website.

  • Tuition payments may be made by credit card over the phone or checks, money orders, or cash (must be exact change) placed in an envelope with student’s name clearly marked in the mailbox outside the front door – receipts will be mailed

  • Only dancers will be allowed in the building - PARENTS OR SIBLINGS will not be allowed in the building at any time – restrooms are for dancers, staff and faculty only (health issue);

  • There will be red/green display signs for the front door; please wait in your car until GREEN sign is displayed – you may walk your dancer to the door if you wish but only they can enter the building  - **please see parking guidelines on last page

  • TEACHERS/STAFF/ASSISTANTS will greet dancers for temp check and anyone with a temp above 99.6 will not be permitted to take class - when class is ready to begin the RED sign will be displayed on the door and the studio door will be LOCKED; dancers arriving late must call the studio at 270-765-5464 to have assistance with entering and will have temp taken before being allowed to take class; Please wait until approximately ten (10) minutes before class begins to enter; no need to arrive earlier than that because we will be cleaning/sanitizing before each class and the door will be locked

  • Teachers/Staff/Assistants will escort younger dancers to their class and bring them back up after class; Green door sign will be displayed when class is over

  • Transition between classes will be about 10 – 15 minutes and Red sign will be displayed and door locked after class to clean/sanitize barres and any space the dancers have used

  • Students may not attend classes with signs or symptoms of illness including but not limited to fever, chills, cough or sore throat.  Dancer must be free of any fever 72 hours prior to being allowed to return to class

  • ALL FACULTY/STAFF/ASSISTANTS WILL WEAR FACE MASKS; recommended guidelines for children under age 5 not to wear a mask; Dancers age 5 and up should wear a mask

  • Dancers should wear street clothes OVER their dance wear and have dance shoes in their dance bag (DO NOT WEAR DANCE SHOES OUTDOORS) and take everything into the studio with them – change shoes and put street shoes and street clothes in dance bag LEAVING NOTHING IN THE LOBBY AREA

  • There will be no lost and found bins so anything left at the studio at the end of the day will be thrown away – perhaps a good learning tool in responsibility for students

  • We strongly urge all dancers to carry some type of dance bag for shoes and street clothes – it can be as simple as a bag from Wal-Mart or Target – possibilities are endless and dance wear can be expensive so this should help to keep from constantly replacing left or lost items; PLEASE LABEL ALL ITEMS WITH BOTH FIRST AND LAST NAME

  • There will be no emergency dance wear or recycle bins available so please double check that your dancer has all his/her appropriate dance wear when coming to class

  • Dancers taking class UPSTAIRS will use the long hallway to the restroom (The Gallery) to enter the studio and exit the center door into the lobby; there will be NO cubbies downstairs for storage of bags – instead take all belongings into the studio with them

  • Dancers should bring their own tightly sealed water bottles (labeled with both names on them) as we will not have water bottles available for purchase right now – no food allowed

  • Sanitizer will be located in both studios, in the bathrooms and in the lobby – disposable paper towels will be provided rather than regular towels in both bathrooms for use after washing hands

  • No loitering after class – pick ups MUST BE ON TIME to allow us the necessary time to clean between classes; if a parent is late for pick up it will delay the cleaning process which in turn delays the start of the next class

  • Parents:  if your dancer’s class lasts one hour or more and you wish to leave but are delayed getting back in time for pick up please call the studio at 270-765-5464 to let us know, otherwise your account will be charged a $5.00 babysitting fee; a dancer whose ride is more than 10 minutes late for pick up will be removed from that class until a more consistent pick up time can be established

  • Larger classes will need to be divided in order to follow distancing guidelines.  As a last resort it is possible we may have a virtual class on Zoom at the same time as an in-person class to keep all in the class on the same level.  If this happens parents should be prepared to use the Zoom app. This information will be given to you in advance.

  • With class size restrictions registration will be a little tricky.  Unless the limited number in each class and social distancing is relaxed (allowing for more dancers and less distance) registration for all students will be date and time stamped to be fair to all. EVERYONE MUST PRE-REGISTER

  • Dancers taking multiple classes back to back do not need to leave the building.  They might be asked to help wipe down the barres, equipment or door handles but can remain in the room.  If a new dancer comes in to join a class that already has dancers from the previous class they must go through the temp check before being allowed to take the class

  • ***DROP OFF/PARKING/PICK UP:  PARKING DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE BUILDING IS RESERVED FOR FACULTY/STAFF AND MUST BE KEPT OPEN AT ALL TIMES – DO NOT PARK IN THIS AREA FOR DROP OFF (this causes traffic tie ups for other people coming in or trying to leave).  INSTEAD please drive up to where the gravel meets the Staff parking lot, drop off your dancer and then park at the       foot of the hill if you plan to stay. Or, park at the foot of the hill and walk your dancer to the door.  If your dancer’s class lasts 30-45 minutes please stay and remain in your car.  Assistant Teachers will escort your dancer back to your car at the end of class.
